Chrysler is recalling 18,245 vehicles due to issues with airbags which may deploy unexpectedly if the car passes through minor obstacles like potholes.

The affected vehicle includes 2013-2015 Ram C/V Tradesman cargo vans, featuring two front bucket seats and no rear seating that were manufactured between July 25, 2012 to August 20, 2014.

According to the filing with the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the company mentioned that inadvertent air bag deployment can cause serious injury to the occupants.

Chrysler has already started the process on 3 October by notifying the owners of the affected vehicle and the dealers, who will fix the issue by updating the software in the Occupant Restraint Control (ORC) module for free.
