Infiniti, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Nissan Motors Infiniti has released images of its upcoming Q50 sedan which is expected to be introduced at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January.

Planned to go on sale in 2014, Q50 will replace the G37 sedan and share some elements from BMW's 3-Series, Mercedes-Benz's C-Class, and Audi's A4 following an alliance between Renault-Nissan and Daimler.

The company has not revealed any details of the vehicle but the Q50 could sport a V-6 and seven-speed automatic transmission or a smaller four-cylinder engine, according to latimes.com.

Naming of the sedan reflects company revised naming strategy announced recently under which all sedans and coupes will be labeled Q, while SUVs and crossovers will be leveled as QX.
